Self-Drive Terms and Conditions

1. All reservations, amendments & cancellations will only be accepted in writing, via fax or email. Quotations will be provided on request for any services not specified in the price list.
2. Cancellation Policy: If a confirmed reservation is cancelled, cancellation fees will be levied as follows:
   a. More than 72 hours prior to commencement of the rental nil
   b. Between 72 hours and 24 hours prior to commencement of rental 50%
   c. Less than 24 hours prior to commencement of rental 100%
3. If a passenger fails to collect the sidecar as booked, or collects it after the pre-arranged time or returns it prior to completion of the arranged time, no rebate or refund, partial or otherwise, will be given.
4. Payment Policy: Full payment of rental fees and deposits are required in advance, prior to the commencement of the rental unless otherwise agreed in writing with ourselves.
5. A refundable deposit of R6000 is required to cover loss or damage to the motorcycle and riding apparel.
6. Sidecars are dispatched with a full tank of petrol. They need to be returned with a full tank of petrol or a charge for fuel used will be levied. (R1.00/km). Daily rental covers unlimited mileage.
7. Customers are not permitted to travel further than 150km from the Sea Point depot without express written consent from CSA.
8. In the event of an accident involving a 3rd party, an excess of R2500 will be deducted from the sidecar deposit. In the event of damage, accidental or otherwise, to the sidecar, an estimate for damages will be made on the sidecar´s return & an amount for repairs will be deducted off the deposit.
9. Under no circumstance will Cape Sidecar Adventures (CSA) dispatch any rentals unless an indemnity form has been completed and signed by the driver & all passengers.
10. All sidecars must be collected & returned personally to our premises at 2 Glengariff Rd, Sea Point, during regular shop hours unless otherwise arranged in writing.
11. Sidecars returned after the agreed time will be subject to a penalty calculated on the hourly pro-rata charge and deducted off the deposit.
12. Drivers & passengers are offered additional General Accident cover of R500, 000 at a daily premium of R75 per person. Excess payable on claims on this cover is R1500. 13. All renters must be at least 21 years old and have a valid Code "A" South African license. International visitors must present both a valid license from their country of origin and an international license.
14. CSA shall not be liable for any loss or expense arising from the loss of property, cancellation or curtailment of any rental however caused. If sickness or accident interrupts a tour, the operator shall not be liable for any cost or expense arising there from. CSA shall not be liable for any refund, either partial or total, of rental money paid. CSA recommends that hirers be advised to purchase appropriate insurance to protect them against such eventuality.
15. Drivers will be fully liable for any traffic fines incurred whilst the sidecar is in your possession.
16. Inclement Weather: In the case of inclement weather preventing the rental taking place, the hirer may elect to accept a full refund or elect to take up the booking at a later agreed upon date. Once the hirer has decided to take up the rental on the arranged day, no refund will be given should there be foul weather during the course of the rental.
