Travelling northwards & following the Benguela Ocean Current up the West Coast of Southern Africa allows you to experience this semi-arid desert with an abundance of indigenous fauna & flora. Following the coastline along the R27 West Coast road up to Lamberts Bay then cutting inland to the Cederberg Wilderness area and returning through the Middleberg mountain pass via the traditional farming towns of Ceres & Tulbagh and onwards to Cape Town.

The tour is mainly on paved roads, with some easy gravel sections in between. Freeways are avoided at best.

6 Day (5 night) West Coast & Mountains Round Trip

Day 1 (Distance: 136 Km)

8:00 am – Collection from city hotel and pre-trip briefing at sidecar depot
9:00 am – Orientation drive around the Cape Peninsula including;

  • Cape Point
  • Cape of Good Hope
  • Chapmans Peak Scenic Drive
  • Penguins at Boulders beach
  • Lunch in Simons Town

5:00 pm – Return to city hotel
7:30 pm – Dinner

Day 2 (Distance: 176 Km)

9:00 am – Collection from hotel & depart for Paternoster, traveling along Route 27 to Langebaan via West Coast National Park
12:00 pm – Arrive at Langebaan for lunch
2:00 pm –   Depart Langebaan for Paternoster via Cape Columbine Nature Reserve and Saldana Bay
6:00 pm – Arrival in Paternoster
7:30 pm – Dinner

Day 3 (Distance: 157 Km)

9:00 am – Depart Paternoster for Elands bay
12:00 pm – Arrive for lunch stop in Elands Bay
2:00pm –  Depart Elands Bay for Lamberts Bay

The tour showcases the beautiful scenery of the Western Cape hinterland. Following Route 62 to Barrydale through the Montague natural rock arch bordered on both side of the road by the Twistniet nature reserve. Returning over the well known Tradouwshoek pass into the Cape winelands of the Overberg area visiting the towns of Greyton and onto Franchhoek via the Franchoek pass
